KANDUNGAN LOGAM BERAT PB DALAM SPESIES LAMUN YANG BERBEDA (Cymodocea rotundata, Thalassia hemprichi DAN Enhalus acoroides) DI PERAIRAN PESISIR KABUPATEN LAMONGAN JAWA TIMUR

ABSTRACT


Heavy metal Pb content in different seagrass species (Cymodocea rotundata, Thalassia hemprichi dan Enhalus acoroides) of Paciran coastal waters of Lamongan Regency Of East Java was observed in March 2007. The purpose of the study was to know the heavy metal Pb content in all parts of the seagrass plant (root, rhizome and leaf), sediment and water from different seagrass species (Cymodocea rotundata, Thalassia hemprichi dan Enhalus acoroides). Research method was survey and the direct observation. Data consist of the heavy metal content Pb at parts of plant seagrass (root, rhizome and leaf), sediment and water. Descriptive data analysis and one way ANOVA and doubled comparison test Tukey for the test of comparison of its parts of the seagrass species differently.
The result of the study showed that there was no significant difference on the content of heavy metal Pb at parts of seagrass plant (root, rhizome and leaf), sediment and water from different seagrass species (Cymodocea rotundata, Thalassia hemprichi and Enhalus acoroides) with composition leaf ? root > rhizome. Seagrass plant can be used as monitoring and as bioindicator Pb heavy metal in coastal waters by analyzing of heavy metal Pb at plant seagrass and also to assistin in decreasing toxicities of heavy metal Pb in coastal waters.

SENYAWA POLISAKARIDA PADA ALGA COKLAT (Sargassum sp) [Kajian Hasil Isolasi Fukoidan, Laminaran dan Alginat]

ABSTRACT

The yield of exstraction of polysacharides from brown alga Sargassum sp are: fraction A (fukoidant), B (laminaran), and fraction C (alginat). The exstraction of the three kind of polisakarides by used of the selected solven. The result of exstraction: fraction A, B, and C conducted by FTIR analysis to know functional groups, total of sugar, and content of Zn. while to know water content, ash total, Zn of raw material, Sargassum sp.
The result showed that polysaccharides compound from Sargasum sp are Fukoidan (fraction A) with total of sugar 2,24%/100 ml, and 0,0290 0,03 mcg content of Zn; Laminaran as fraction B with total of sugar equal to 1,45%/100 ml and Zn 0,0067 mcg; and alginate (fraction C) with total of sugar about to 2,8%/100ml and Zn is not detected.

PENDEKATAN GENERAL LINEAR MODEL (GLM) UNTUK MENGETAHUI BESARNYA KONTRIBUSI ALAT TANGKAP TERHADAP HASIL TANGKAPAN IKAN PELAGIS KECIL TAHUN 1997-2006 DI PERAIRAN SELAT MADURA

ABSTRACT


Small pelagic fishes which caught many in territorial water of Madura Strait consist of scad, mullet, anchovy, fringescale sardine, big eye trevally, Indian oil sardine and Indian mackerel. While the appliance catch that be able to catch small pelagic fishes in Madura Strait consist of pelagic danish seine, purse seine, drift gill net, trammel net, set gill net and lift net. By using approach of General Linear Model (GLM), it will look for the level of appliance contribution catch to haul small pelagic fishes in territorial water of Madura Strait. Based on the that formed to be known analysis produce small pelagic fishes with appliance catch production have conclusion that appliance catch giving biggest contribution to haul mackerel scad is lift net, at kembung fish is payang, at selar is payang, at tembang is payang, at teri is payang, at lemuru is lift net, at belanak is payang. Given the appliance contribution catch, can improve accuracy of fisheries resources management of small pelagic fishes that exist in territorial water of Madura Strait. With Test of F and test of t at after trust 95 %, fish production of small pelagic do not have a signifikan effect on the production of appliance catch. But, at the certain after trust, it has an influence. This matter can be caused by the happening of multikolinearitas at formed model.

KESUBURAN PERAIRAN DITINJAU DARI KONSENTRASI NITRAT, PHOSPAT DAN KELIMPAHAN FITOPLANKTON DI WADUK JATILUHUR, JAWA BARAT

ABSTRACT

A study on water properity in terms of nitrate and phosphate concentrations as well as phytoplankton density had been conducted from March to June, 2008, in Loka Riset Pemacuan Stok Ikan Jatiluhur, Purwakarta, West Java. Method used in the study was a field survey. Observation and sampling were done at six points of Waduk Jatiluhur Waters. Phytoplankton identification, phospate and nitrate analysis were executed in Loka Riset Pemacuan Stok Ikan Jatiluhur Laboratory. Statistical analysis was executed using SPSS For Windows1.5
Results of the study showed that, the temperature ranged from 28.50 to 30.40o C; brightness values ranging between 30-120 cm; range of pH values obtained during observations ranged between 7,5-8, 5; dissolved oxygen ranged between 2,25-6,45 mg/l; CO2 concentration ranged 0-2,24 mg/l; nitrate concentration ranged between 0,06-0.388 mg/l; phoshpate concentration ranged 0084 - 0276 mg/l. The ratio of N to P obtained at two different depths was less than 16:1, so that the factors restricting the profusion of phytoplankton was the concentration of nitrate. The phytoplankton density in Waduk Jatiluhur waters consists of 4 classes (Chlorophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Bacillariophyceae and Dinophyceae) consists of 50 Genera. During the observation, phytoplankton abundance ranged from 104,824 to 146,272 Ind/l. There was a glut in the lowest layer of Euphotic Station III at 104,824 Ind/l. The highest abundance of phytoplankton found in the surface layer of Station II, i.e. 146,272 Ind/l. Diversity index (H') at all stations ranged between 1,29-3,01, while the uniformity index (E) ranges between 0,59-0,93. Dominancy index ranged between 0,01-0,43. There was a relation between phytoplankton abundance and nutrients on the surface layer of waters with determination coefficient (r2) of 0.735, which means that 73.5% concentration of nitrate and phosphate affect the phytoplankton abundance with the correlation coefficient is 0,857. In euphotic layer has relevance between the phytoplankton abundance with both nutrients such as the determination coefficient (r2) of 0.966, with the correlation coefficient of 0,983. The relation between the phytoplankton abundance with both nutrients in the overall depth of the stations and obtained its determination coefficient (r2) of 0685, with a correlation coefficient of 0,828. From the results, this waters was catagorized as meso-eutrophic.

PENGAMATAN VEGETASI HUTAN MANGROVE DI PULAU DUA TELUK BANTEN PROPINSI BANTEN

ABSTRACT

A study on the condition of mangrove vegetation had been done at Pulau Dua Serang District – Banten Provice from March to April 2007. The aim of the study was to know the condition and characteristics of the mangrove vegetation. The method of the study was a survey applying square plotting of 10m x 10 m each alongside the beach line. The relative density, relative frequency, relative dominancy were calculated based on Bengen (2000). The index was calculated both using Bengen (2000) and Sharon-Weiner (Marida, 2006).
The result of the study showed that there were 7 species of mangrove those were T. populnea, Bruguera cylindrical, Rhyzopora.stylosa, R.Partiplora, R. caecerios accondra, Avicenia lanata, Avicenia alba. Rhizopora stylosa was the dominant species, with value of KR = 40,62, FR = 27,27, and was DR = 49,35. The value of INT were 117.24 for R. stylosa, 62.51 for T. populnea, 61.47 for Avicenia lanata, 41.71 for A. alba, and 8.59% for Bruguera cylindrical. The value of uniformity was 0.33, and the value of diversity was 0,641.
