Infrastructure is ready Welcoming Sail Morotai 2012

National Committee (Panitia Nasional) Sail Morotai Coordination Meeting held with 16 ministries / institutions such as Ministry Of Marine Affaires And Fisheries, Coordinating Ministry for People's Welfare, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Public Works, Ministry of Youth and Sports Affaires, Indonesian National Armed Force and Indonesian National Police in order to succeed the great event Sail Morotai 2012, top event will take place on 15 September on Morotai Island, North Maluku province. Enhanced infrastructure built to welcome the guests and tourists who attend the event.

Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Sharif C.Sutardjo as Chairman of the National Committee describes the preparation of Sail Morotai in the coordination meeting held at the Ministry of Communications (25/7). He said the coordination meeting intend to efforts the readiness of infrastructure and physical facilities and Activity plan in organizing Sail Morotai 2012. In addition, he invites all members of the national committee in order to succeed the implementation of the Sail Morotai, because Morotai has an economic potencial that expected This Region to grow and prosper.

Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare, who is also chairman of the national committee, Agung Laksono explained that by organizing a grand event Sail Morotai 2012, there are few main focus of the national committee, like the readiness of facilities and infrastructure such as Harbour, Road, and Airport.

Not only the guests from different countries, Sail Morotai 2012 will also be attended by the families of war veterans from Japan, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Australia, and The United States. Through this event will also be built The Museum of World War II on Morotai.

The Directorate General of Marine and Fisheries Resources Surveillance, Syahrin Abdurrahman said, this great event will be enlivened by 146 ships from 12 countries. Guests will be given an incentive of opportunity to stay in Indonesia for 3-6 months. While the flag off of Darwin is planned on July 28. Sail Morotai has one goal to encourage accelerated development in the area.  Syahrin also said He made coordination to the Minister of Law and Human Rights about customs free duties and other levies for the participants of Sail Morotai 2012.

The North Maluku Governor Thaib Armaiyn report on the readiness of facilities and infrastructures to support  Sail Morotai 2012. He explained, would mobilize four ferries. To support this matter, His administration staff will set up a pontoon to facility ferry to lean. In addition, there are about 33 DAMRI buses at Morotai, Sofifi, and Ternate in order to serve the guests who will stop at Morotai.

Sail Morotai held in Ternate and Morotai in North Maluku Province from June to September 2012 with the top event held at the Daruba Morotai Port on 15 September 2012. Sail Morotai with the theme "Towards a New Era Pacific Regional Economy" is a continuation of the Sail Bunaken (2009), Sail Banda (2010), and Sail-Belitong Wakatobi (2011).

The main activities of Sail Morotai 2012 are Yacht Rally, Social Activity and Health Services, Independence Day Ceremony under water and on the outer island.
